Surfing in Costa Rica is so much fun. The waves are great, and they aren’t so powerful like the water in Hawaii. I have surfed now in Tamarindo and also in Jaco Costa Rica. I really enjoyed it in both places and got great instructors to get me through the basics when I first started.

I’d highly recommend that you get instructors for at least a month or so, before going off on your own depending on the wave size of course. Jaco Wave Surf Shop was a really good place for lessons. Andres Rojas is an instructor there and he does a great job at working with people of all ages.

Costa Rica has so many adventurous things to do. Give surfing a try here, if you never done it before. The first time you get up on a wave and surf across the water, you’ll be hooked and won’t want to stop for hours. Get out to Jaco and catch some waves. You won’t regret it!
